This accessibility statement applies to the Lounaistieto.fi website (https://www.lounaistieto.fi). It was created on 15.9.2020 and the accessibility for the website is self-evaluated.
The accessibility for digital services
For the time being Lounaistieto.fi meets the critical (A&AA) accessibility needs in the WCAG-standard rather well. Fixes for contrasts and alternative text are being finalized, but the website still has the following shortcomings:
- Uninformative hyperlinks (WCAG 2.4.4)
The digital services have a few hyperlinks consisting of one or two words. Those hyperlinks do not provide the proper context for the content of the linked websites.
- Accessibility for Microsoft Word-, Excel- ja PDF-documents (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.3.1)
There are shortcomings in the documents that are linked in the digital services. Documents published after 23.9.2018 are being updated.
Shortcomings in accessibility, that are not covered by the legislation
Some of the content in the digital services do not meet the criteria for accessibility. That content is not covered by the legislation (Act on the Provision of Digital Services 306/2019):
- Mapservice
The content for the mapservice of Lounaistieto is not designed primarily for navigation. Therefore, the law it is not applicable for this service.
- Content by external service providers
The details for this content is neither produced nor decided by Lounaistieto. Social media widgets have been deleted from the website.
- Documents published before 23.9.2018
Some of the linked files (Word-, Excel-, and pdf-files) on the website are published before 23.9.2018, and such are not covered by the accessibility legislation.
- Subtitles for embedded videos
In most cases Lounaistieto does not provide video recordings from seminars/webinars that are hosted by Lounaistieto due to lack of necessary resources. However, we do try to provide presentation materials for our events as pdf-files whenever possible.

Supervisory authority
If you notice accessibility issues on the website, send us feedback. Use Accessibility feedback as the message subject and describe in the message the problem in question. It may take up to 14 days to receive an answer. If you are not satisfied with the answer or do not receive an answer from us within two weeks, you may file a complaint with the Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland. The agency website has detailed instructions (in Finnish and Swedish only) on how to file a complaint and how the issue will be handled.
